Program Overview

ArtBeat Schoolhouse is a cozy and nurturing environment that gently eases children ages 3-5 into group learning. Through art, yoga, music, sports, wilderness education, individualized curriculum and age-appropriate academic activities children will build a powerful foundation for future learning.

ArtBeat children will be provided with the option to receive an Ages & Stages Developmental Screening Q & A . The students will also get the chance to be assessed by a Speech and or Occupational therapist and if therapy is needed it will be provided on site at no additional charge.

Highlights from the Handwriting Without Tears Curriculum will be used during both art and circle time. Handwriting Without Tears is a wildly popular, developmentally appropriate program that successfully prepares children to read and write. It was designed by an educator and an occupational therapist and focuses on necessary foundational literacy skills in a fun and hands on way.

The Schoolhouse also offers snippets of the Coyote Mentoring approach. This is an incredibly engaging way of introducing children to nature.

Students will benefit from Cosmic Yoga instruction both indoors and out. Cosmic Yoga time is a chance for children to use role-play and songs to create yoga stories while building strength and balance. There will also be ample time for age-appropriate mindfulness and breath work.

Students will also enjoy authentic art projects, musical gym activities, expressive movement / dance, drumming, singing and an introduction to unique, culturally rich instruments.

The ArtBeat Schoolhouse experience is a stepping stone towards healthy living, self awareness, social competence and academic success.
